Welcome to our online Guest Book
We had to temporarily remove the real thing from Wythebank due to Covid 19. It is back in the cottage now but if you ran out of time to write in it while you were there, then we would love it if you could write your Guest Book entry here. If you have any other feedback for us please use the Contact Us page. Many thanks, David & Carol.
Perfect holiday cottage, our second stay there and we booked stay 3 before we left! Thankyou to the owners. Fabulous week - beautiful cottage, remote with lots of lovely exploring the area and walking straight from the door in my favourite part of the Lake District. High quality, comfortable accommodation - looking forward to visiting again soon! This is a wonderful cottage in a stunning location. it is very well equipped and the beds are particularly comfortable. We liked the fact that it was up a track, away from the crowds, and yet within easy reach of both Coniston and Ambleside. An easy 20 minute walk to the local pub The Three Shires in Little Langdale. We hope to return very soon. Fabulous cottage- really comfy, cosy and well equipped for 6, plus dogs. Ideal location to walk from the cottage- lots to explore in the local area. Would highly recommend. The remoteness of the cottage, the fact that you could walk from the door to an abundance of places without going on a road, the high standard of the cottage. Everything was brilliant. A lovely cottage which we certainly hope to return to, this is already our second visit. Very comfortable with everything we needed and the children enjoyed having the piano to play. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your delightful home from home. Another wonderful week in this wonderful cottage. Enjoyed walks and sailing on Coniston. The piano was well used, to the surprise of passing hikers! Hope to be back as soon as we can. Amazing cottage in an amazing place. Stayed here many times and will be staying again many times more. Just had a brilliant week at Wythebank Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, well maintained and well equipped. Its perfect location well away from the crowds but a great base for walking (could spend a week here and walk directly from the cottage without having to use the car). Saw huge selection of birds an squirrels in the garden which was a great bonus. Good weather despite the forecast. Lots of great walks from the door of this beautiful cottage. Lovely position. Loads of walks. Comfortable. It's a wonderful place to stay, very clean and comfortable with every facility we could possibly want, including some real bonuses such as the piano, which with three piano playing children was greatly appreciated. We would heartedly recommend the property to everyone and very much hope to stay there again in the near future. Beautiful cottage in a secluded and peaceful place. Great enclosed garden for the dog and walks right from the door. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The super king size bed was perfect after a day of exploring the area. We will definitely be coming back here in the near future. A spacious property in a remote location, peaceful and quiet and the perfect get-away if you’re looking to have a total switch off from everyday stresses. Excellent walks right from the door with both Coniston and Hawkshead within reach. This was are fourth stay at Wythebank. Very clean on arrival. Comfy warm cottage in an amazing quiet location . Facilities good and maintenance of the cottage to a high standard. Numerous walks from the front door. Three shires pub in walking distance. The location is fabulous, so many walks from the door, peaceful. Cottage facilities were great, very comfortable. We were fortunate to meet the owners who are lovely, not surprising the cottage is of such a high quality. Great week, notwithstanding the challenging weather. Fantastic walking from the front door. Dramatic and beautiful landscape. Something for everyone here. I'm sure we will be back. Lovely property - we really enjoyed our stay. Lots of hot water, and a great space for all 6 of us. Thanks Lovely cottage in a stunning location. Warm and comfortable with two lovely showers with loads of hot water. Would stay at this cottage again Perfect cottage, our 3rd holiday there and booked for next year, location great for walking direct from the door and cosy on return to sit in garden and listen to piano! What a beautiful setting, wonderful walks from the doorstep. Saw the nuthatch and the woodpecker. This is without doubt one of the best Lake District cottages we have stayed in. Lovely cottage, spotless and in an absolutely perfect place for endless walks from the door (barely used the car). Quiet, peaceful and private. Cosy and warm, plenty of space and everything we needed. Surrounded by birds and sheep! We live in Cornwall and have been visiting the Lake District for many years (now in our mid 60's we calculate around 25 trips) and Wythebank is by far the best appointed cottage that we have stayed in. All our needs were catered for, right down to a doorstep supply of seasoned wood for the log burners. The property if warm and cosy, the three bedrooms are large with very comfortable bedding, the kitchen diner is very well appointed and equipped and the tiled flooring ideal for wet wellies and dogs. The garden is fenced and gated (secure enough to contain our two very inquisitive Labradors) which is a real benefit for those late night/early morning toilet trips......... David and Carol have really gone the extra mile to make this cottage into a perfect base for their guests - fabulous. We've all had a wonderful week here in this wonderful area. It was our 13 year walking in this lovely area with so much from the front door we could ask for nothing more. Thank you. A fabulous property which was so clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen which included everything one needed to prepare meals. There were several games and books available which was a lovely touch. The house and surroundings are stunning and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a holiday here. A fabulous week had by all - the cottage delightful, the scenery breathtaking - what more could one ask for? With thanks. Very well appointed cottage in amazing location A beautiful cosy cottage in a stunning location. The cottage had everything we needed and more, would highly recommend :) Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Comfy and cosy with everything we needed for our stay. Perfect location for walking from the cottage every day and a pub in easy walking distance so no need to use the car once there. Lovely peaceful setting with an abundance of wildlife you can enjoy from the cottage. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a holiday here - this was our second stay at Wythebank and we look forward to staying again. We had a lovely time at Wythebank last week and the cottage was a pleasure to stay in - the very well appointed kitchen was a treat so we could make cakes and cooked a roast one day, and everywhere else met our needs really well. It was also great to explore the local area all around Hodge Close, including walking down to Tarn Hows one day and up to Blea Tarn another. Thanks very much. Our second stay in this lovely cottage. Lovely weather for lots of walks from the front door. Our only wet day was when we went kayaking on Lake Coniston. This is a truly lovely cottage in a magnificent, tucked away location with a pretty garden. Fully equipped, tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable. We only used the car a couple of times, as the walks and views from the house are glorious and varied. Wetherlam was unforgettable, but so too were the lower fells of Lingmoor and Black Fell. The twenty minute walk to the excellent Three Shires Inn is idyllic, we were lucky to be here at meadow flower time in June. The local quarries and caves are breathtaking and well worth exploring, as are the paths through the woodland. We had a fantastic week and hope to return one day. Thank you. Brilliant location for those of us with dogs who love walking every day. The house was extremely comfortable, warm with a high standard of furnishings and equipment. An ideal location for those of us that enjoy lots of different walk be it on the level or going uphill. Once there you do not need to use the car. Just returned home after a very tiring but super 2 week break staying at Wythebank - a fantastically equipped and positioned cottage for those who like to walk. Very tranquil setting, located at the end of a fairly tricky single track, but which in turns means no through traffic (except for the local tractor). Walking is a dream in all directions: North to the Langdale Peaks; South to Coniston Water, West to some hefty peaks such as Wetherlam, Swirl How, and The Old Man; and East to the very pretty Tarn Hows. Feet, ankles, knees now need a much deserved rest! The Head Family + 3 Yorkshire Terriers (also in need of paw resting!)
